Pigments from Japan.
Great pigments, I’ve tried the opera pigments, the yellow-green looks good and the high pitched blue.
Hi, remember we exchanged emails like 1 year and 1/2 ago? At the time I didn’t have a website, I was talking about optical color mixings or additive mixings of painted lines in the emails I sent….
I dont know opera pigments, what are they?
The 3 magenta colors are Opera, I painted with all of them and tested for permanence. The Opera colors are better than the old alizarin, not 100% permanent. But the work I did years ago still looks great. It’s good to be in touch with you again. I would like to try that dark blue pigment. It has high luminosity but may not be permanent enough. Check out these opera paintings.
it’s true this yellow-green is really beautiful, highly saturated…
but I really dont know if these pigments are lightfast or not. They are made from purified & grinded oyster shells (calcium carbonate) and then a dye is added to it. I don’t know which dye…
I would still like to try the darker blue and the yellow-green. I’ll trade you a Real Color Wheel for a little of each, I’ll make the paint.
sorry, I only have 30g of each! but you can find them here: http://www.sankichi.com/SHOP/251876/list.html
I u check the kanji on my picture you’ll recognise them easely, and they ship worldwide!
I don’t have your link to see the pigments. I’ll contact them and have some shipped. You must be in Japan now, it’s 2AM here on Maui and the mainland is asleep. Thanks for the pigment link.
So how much is:
美青 （水干絵具） 15g
鶸色 （水干絵具） 15g
I’m not in japan anymore, 175円 is 150 YEN, something like 2 $
You stay up latter than I. 4AM is my limit.
hey… it’s often true but keep in mind that I live in Europe! It became rare I stay up later than 4AM…
Ron Paul didn’t get enough delegates because the established GOP lied, cheated and stole his votes. Now we have Romney who is just like Obama. It’s a sick world. Tonight will be another late night I think. I want to finish an oil and an acrylic painting that I am working on. The oil is a dried flower painting so the view hasn’t changed much. Are you working on any paintings?
yes of course, my work is made of a series of paintings as you can see on the different pages of this blog
